Website Configuration Studio • Tab 4: Vhost Config • Native 1920x1080 View
📌 Purpose & Quick Summary
Use the Vhost File tab to directly inspect and edit your website's Nginx or Apache server block configuration using the embedded Monaco Editor (the exact code engine behind VS Code). BoostonCP validates syntax before saving so a typo can never break your webserver.
🖥️ Interface Tour & Elements
- Live Monaco Code Canvas: Full syntax-highlighted editor with line numbers, code folding, and autocomplete.
- Reload Webserver Button: Tests syntax (
nginx -t) and executes graceful reload (nginx -s reload). - Save Configuration Button: Writes changes to disk safely.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions: Customizing Vhost Rules
- Open the website Config modal and click the Vhost File tab (
#tab-vhost). - Make your required edits directly in the Monaco editor (e.g., adding custom headers, micro-caching rules, or security restrictions).
- Click Save Configuration.
- BoostonCP compiles the file to a sandbox buffer and runs an automated syntax test.
- If syntax is valid, the file is saved and Nginx is reloaded.
- If there is a syntax error, BoostonCP blocks the save, displays the exact line number of the error in red, and prevents server downtime.
