BoostonCP Backup Schedules Tab

Standard Backups • Tab 5: Schedules • Native 1920x1080 View

📌 Overview & Purpose

Use the Schedules tab to set up automated recurring backups so you never have to remember to back up your websites manually. Backups run automatically in the background at off-peak hours, and older backups are automatically pruned according to your retention settings.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions: Creating an Automated Schedule

  1. Click the Schedules tab (schedule).
  2. Click the primary Add New Schedule button.
  3. In the schedule form, configure:
    • Schedule Name: E.g., Daily Midnight All Accounts.
    • Frequency: Choose Daily (Recommended), Weekly, or Monthly.
    • Execution Time: Select an off-peak time (e.g., 03:00 AM) when server traffic is lowest.
    • Retention Count: Specify how many backup copies to keep (e.g., 7 to keep the last 7 daily backups). Oldest backups are automatically deleted when new ones succeed.
    • Destination: Choose whether to save locally, push to FTP, or upload to Google Drive.
  4. Click Save Schedule. BoostonCP immediately registers the job in the system crontab.
