📌 Purpose & Quick Summary

Use the Redirects tab to forward incoming traffic from one URL to another without editing code. Supports permanent 301 redirects (for SEO migration) and temporary 302 redirects (for maintenance).

🛠️ Step-by-Step Instructions: Creating a Redirect

  1. Open website Config and select the Redirects tab.
  2. Under Create Redirect:
    • Redirect Type: Choose 301 Permanent or 302 Temporary.
    • Source Path: Enter the incoming path (e.g., /old-page or / for entire domain).
    • Target URL: Enter the destination URL (e.g., https://newpage.com).
    • Preserve URI: Toggle ON if you want /old-page/test to redirect to https://newpage.com/test.
  3. Click Add Redirect. BoostonCP writes the rewrite directive into the server block immediately.
